April is fast approaching and sadly the end of the winter season is creeping up on us. Last week gave us some great powder days with amazing snow for so late in the season – always a bonus! Now less snow is falling, the sun is beginning to shine and our garden is sadly melting away; it’s time to migrate to the park in force, catch some rays and start hitting those features we've been eyeing up all season. In the last few weeks of the season, panic sets in and it’s time to hit it hard; for some that means going bigger on the mountain and for others going bigger on the booze! Either way its great time to enjoy fun times with the mates you've met over the months and start making plans for the summer.
As saddening as the end of winter may be, it does mean that the summer is on its way and we’re definitely looking forward to getting back on our bikes. Morzine is just as beautiful in the summer as it is the winter and is mainly occupied by mountain bikers. The atmosphere around town is very chilled and life seems to take a slower pace than it does in the winter. The mountains have some great trails for downhill mountain biking which is a great way to get our adrenaline fix once our snowboards have been packed away.
Chalet Nantegue operates as a catered chalet in the summer months and is equipped for mountain bikers. Prices start at £37pppn on a half board basis.Leave a comment
